PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic packaging device, in which loosening in continuous bags can be prevented in simpler structure than step rollers to reduce manufacturing cost. SOLUTION: This automatic packaging device 1 is provided with a winding shaft 3 around which a plurality of bags 21 connected to each other through perforations 22 into a strip of connected bags 2 are to be wound, and a feed roller 4 to intermittently feed the connected bags 2 one by one. The automatic packaging device 1 is also provided with a DC motor 7 to provide brake torque to the winding shaft 3, a gear 6 and a gear part 71 to boost brake torque from the DC motor 7 to be transmitted to the winding shaft 3, a short-circuiting switch 81 to short-circuit or open the short-circuiting circuit 8 connected to the DC motor 7, and a switch control device 9 to control the short-circuiting switch 81 corresponding to feed timing of the feed roller 4.
