PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ceiling lighting system for an elevator car whereby a ceiling surface can be effectively used as a light ceiling with a simple structure. SOLUTION: In this ceiling lighting system for the elevator car, a light-scattering sheet 7 is usually pulled out of a winding mechanism 6, a fitting piece is fitted with a fitting part of a joint rod 4, and the light-scattering sheet 7 is arranged on a light ceiling forming position. When replacing an optical source body 2, fitting by the fitting piece is released, and the light-scattering sheet 7 is stored by the winding mechanism 6. Thus, the light ceiling surface formed by the light-scattering sheet 7 pulled out is opened. The winding mechanism 6 is attached on the rod 4 on one side, and thereby an installation space of a device for pulling out and storing the light-scattering sheet 7 is reduced. Therefore, a surface of a ceiling plate 1 can be effectively used, and sufficient illumination efficiency by the optical source body 2 and the light ceiling surface by the light-scattering sheet 7 can be achieved.
