摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To interpolate the non-uniformity of nonlinear light intensity distribution caused by liquid crystal orientation irregularities and film thickness irregularities or the like. SOLUTION: A liquid crystal display device comprises: a division point information storage means for storing the position information of each pixel division point for which the number X of pixels and the number Y of pixels of a display screen are respectively divided at equal intervals; a gradation correction value storage means for storing a gradation correction value set for each gradation division point for which the maximum number of gradations of the liquid crystal display device is divided at the equal intervals; a gradation level judgement means for generating a gradation level interpolation signal for each pixel division point of inputted image signals on the basis of the gradation correction value stored in the gradation correction value storage means; a horizontal direction interpolation means for obtaining a distance in an x axis direction between the pixel position of the image signal and the position of the pixel division point and generating a horizontal direction interpolation signal from the gradation level interpolation signal on the basis of the obtained distance; and a vertical direction interpolation means for obtaining the distance in a y axis direction between the pixel position of the image signal and the position of the pixel division point and generating the image signal to be displayed at the liquid crystal display device from the horizontal direction interpolation signal on the basis of the obtained distance.
