PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize the function of an indicator which is brought to a light emitting state during a standby state, at a low cost. SOLUTION: A panel 1 as a display section is constituted of self light emitting elements E11-Enm for example based on organic EL elements, and the organic EL elements which function as the indicator Ei to be brought to the light emitting state during standby are also formed on the same panel. Meanwhile, an indicator drive circuit 13 which drives and allows the organic EL elements that function as the indicator Ei to emit light is constituted of a one-chip IC together with a data driver 2. By forming the indicator drive circuit 13 as the one-chip IC in the data driver 2, a manufacturing cost can be reduced compared to the case that the indicator drive circuit is prepared separately. The EL elements functioning as the indicator Ei also can be formed on the same substrate as that of the respective EL elements E11-Enm constituting the display section by the same process, thereby contributing to cost reduction.
