ROTARY ELECTRIC MACHINE AND MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREFOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary electric machine wherein a rotor can be relatively easily and inexpensively fabricated without imposing high accuracy requirement for machining on pole cores and permanent magnets can be assembled without impairing the cooling efficiency of the rotor. SOLUTION: Magnet holders 7 are individually fixed on the nail-shaped magnetic poles 21 of at least either 2 of a pair of pole cores 2 and 3. Each of the magnet holders 7 is provided with a magnet attaching portion 72 to which a permanent magnet 5 is to be attached, on the sides of both the side faces of a nail-shaped magnetic pole 21 in the circumferential direction. Each of the magnet attaching portions 72 is so formed that it is positioned between the nail-shaped magnetic poles 21 and nail-shaped magnetic poles 23 engaged with each other.
