PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid-state imaging element capable of obtaining an image without an after-image at a bright place and obtaining an image in which random noise is reduced at a dark place. SOLUTION: A pulse whose period is shorter than that of prior arts is intermittently applied to a gate of a reset transistor from a vertical scanning circuit for a plural number of times in a state that a vertical scanning signalψSm is at an 'H' level for a horizontal blanking period being a reset period to reset a state of a reset signalΦRm from an 'L' level to an 'H' level intermittently for a plural number of times so as to quickly realize a steady-state after resetting.
