PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately detect targets without reducing processing speed too much even if an imaging environment or the like changes.

SOLUTION: A human body detection device 1 that detects humans from images is provided with an image input part 101 for inputting images FG taken with a camera; a plurality of plane generating parts 301-304 for detecting the features of the images FG using different methods; a means for obtaining the conditions of items for camera photography; a means for determining the reliability of the features detected by the plane generating parts 301-304 under the conditions obtained; and a detection process part 105 for detecting humans in the images according to the features and the reliability of each feature detected from the images by one or the plurality of plane generating parts 301-304.
