PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic photoreceptor preventing decrease in the charging performance of the photoreceptor, image failure due to decrease in sensitivity which easily occurs in a high-speed copying process or a low temperature and low humidity environment, and periodical image defects such as black spots and transfer defects easily induced by surface contamination of the photoreceptor, and to provide a process cartridge, a method for forming an image and an image forming apparatus using the above electrophotographic photoreceptor. SOLUTION: The electrophotographic photoreceptor contains a pigment containing a metal atom and essentially comprising a nonmetal condensed polycyclic compound and a mixture compound having a chemical structure expressed by general formula (1): X-(CTM group)n-Y with the distribution on a basis of n showing that the composition ratio x of a compound as the maximum component and the composition ratio y of a compound as the second component satisfy x+y≤99%.
