LATCH DEVICE IN FURNITURE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a latch device for allowing even a physically handicapped person to easily release a latch of an opening-closing door 3 and a drawer. SOLUTION: This latch device fixes a grip housing 6 to a front face plate 9 of the rotary opening-closing door 3 so that its front opening storage part 11 faces the reverse surface side of the front face plate 9. A latch shaft 14 for operating engagement-disengagement to an engaging part of a furniture body so as to be normally and reversely rotatable around the axis, is pivoted on the reverse surface side of the front face plate 9. A grip body 7 arranged in the storage part 11 is installed on the latch shaft 14. The grip body 7 has a push operation part 24 and a pull operation part 25 operable in the latch releasing direction. The push operation part 24 and the pull operation part 25 are formed in opposed positions by sandwiching the axis of the latch shaft 14. The push operation part 24 is formed so as to project large forward from outer peripheral edge parts 20 and 20a of a front face of the grip housing 6 in a latch holding position. The pull operation part 25 is formed so as to be positioned in the storage part 11. The surface area of the push operation part 24 is also formed large. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
