PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a continuous defoaming apparatus for defoaming a viscous fluid containing bubbles and/or dissolved bubbling material by continuously supplying it to a reduced pressure sealed system, with excellent film formation preventive property, simple structure of the apparatus, low cost, and excellent maintenability of the apparatus, and its defoaming method. SOLUTION: In this continuous defoaming apparatus 01 for a viscous fluid containing bubbles and/or dissolved bubbling material, a lead pipe 7 to a vacuum system is provided at an upper part of the apparatus 01, and a discharge system 8 is provided at a central part of a bottom part of a lower part liquid reserve tank 1. A tubular lead pipe 4 for leading untreated viscous fluid 20 is provided in the lower part liquid reserve tank 1. A discharge port 5 at a cut port of a tip part of the lead pipe 4 is set upward or downward in relation to a viscous fluid level 10 in the lower part liquid reserve tank 1, and positioned at a given position under the fluid level in operation.
