The torsional vibration damper has respective transmission elements on the driving and driven sides, and an inertia mass on the driven side. The inertia mass (51) in its contact section is constructed with a contact wall which is inclined in relation to a neutral position of an axial energy accumulator and with which it interacts. The inclined contact wall is provided on a pressure application side of the contact section of the inertia mass facing the axial energy accumulator, and the energy accumulator exerts on the pressure application side of the contact section an axial force of predetermined value.
