<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid polymer fuel cell using a porous type separator capable of further suppressing dry-out. <P>SOLUTION: This fuel cell comprises electrode layers holding an electrolyte in between, and porous type separators arranged on both sides of the electrode layers to form reactive gas passages for distributing a reactive gas between one-side faces thereof and the electrode layers. Each cathode separator 6 has, on a back side 6b opposed to a side 6a having a cathode gas passage 8 formed thereon, a water moving route 20 for connecting an excessive area D where water is excessive in the cathode gas passage 8 to an insufficient area I overlapping with an area where water is insufficient in the cathode gas passage 8.
