<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a modifier which is used for a cellulose acylate and has a reducing action on the optical anisotropy of the cellulose acylate, and to prepare a cellulose acylate film having a small retardation value in the thickness direction. <P>SOLUTION: The cellulose composition is characterized by comprising cellulose and at least one of compounds represented by formula (1) [R<SP>1</SP>, R<SP>2</SP>, R<SP>3</SP>and R<SP>4</SP>are each an alkyl or an aryl, or two or more of the R<SP>1</SP>, R<SP>2</SP>, R<SP>3</SP>and R<SP>4</SP>may be bound to each other to form a phosphorus atom-containing ring; Q<SP>1</SP>, Q<SP>2</SP>, Q<SP>3</SP>and Q<SP>4</SP>are each a single bond or O; L is a divalent bonding group formed from one or more groups selected from a single bond, O, CO, NR<SP>5</SP>(R<SP>5</SP>is H, an alkyl, an aryl or an aralkyl), PO, SO<SB>2</SB>, an alkylene, and an arylene, provided that Q<SP>1</SP>, Q<SP>2</SP>, Q<SP>3</SP>, Q<SP>4</SP>and L are all simultaneously not bound to two phosphorus atoms through O]. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
