PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic tire equipped with an enhanced wet performance while the maneuvering stability is secured and a drop of the noise reduction performance is suppressed to the minimum. SOLUTION: The pneumatic tire is formed so that blocks B are provided isolated in a tread part 2, in which a recessed block B0 having a stepped recess part 10 is included in the block side edge E directed to the longitudinal main groove 3 in such a way as stretching along the block side edge E, where the depth ha from the block oversurface S is 20-70% of the block height HO. The recess part 10 is formed so that the length La in the tire circumferential direction is 40-95% of the length LO in the tire circumferential direction of the block side edge E and the width Wa in the tire axial direction is 2-20 mm.
