PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coaxial connector in which engaging of an outer conductor is prevented, and a short circuit and a damage of a wiring circuit of other electronic apparatuses are prevented as much as possible. SOLUTION: A connector 1 for a coaxial cable includes: at least a shell 4 made of a metal having a connecting terminal 2 connected to the inner conductor 34 of the coaxial cable 31; and a gripping member (first gripping member 11) which is formed at the part of the shell 4 and which grips the outer conductor 33 of the coaxial cable 31. An opening and closing member 4d which opens and closes a cutout 4c formed on the peripheral surface 4b of the shell 4 at the part of the shell 4 is formed integrally. When the cutout 4c is blocked by the opening and closing member 4d, the outer conductor 33 is covered with the part of the opening and closing member 4d, and further the opening and closing member 4d is grasped by the grasping member 11.
