PROCESS FOR PRODUCING DIESEL FUEL OIL FROM OIL-AND-FAT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To treat or effectively utilize glycerol formed as a by-product in a process for producing a fatty acid methyl ester attracting attention as a biomass energy source and useful as a diesel fuel oil from an oil-and-fat. SOLUTION: The fatty acid methyl ester for the diesel fuel oil is produced by the transesterification reaction of the oil-and-fat and methanol. The process is added with a step to convert the by-produced glycerol into methanol and the obtained methanol is used as a raw material for the transesterification reaction.
