The method involves seizing and evaluating air vibrations in the way of a charging device, and finding a correction factor (K1) from a difference between target and actual amplitudes of the vibrations using an automatic control device (Pl-R). The factor is found to correct a target air pressure of a charging device. The factor is a function of number of revolutions of an engine, fuel injection amount, and/or atmospheric air pressure.
