PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize an efficient park lighting capable of ensuring the safe walking of a street pedestrian by improving the visibility from the pedestrian. SOLUTION: A park 1 is lighted by the use of the pole light 4 set in the vicinity of a boundary with a street 2 within the site thereof, and the light from the pole light 4 is emitted substantially mainly to the park side. The street pedestrian 3 can see the state within the park 1 not as a silhouette but as a reverse silhouette. Such a lighting method having an emphasis on the street 2-side area that is apt to give anxiety to the pedestrian enables efficient improvement in the visibility, and ensures his/her safe walking. Further, since a crime attempter who targets the pedestrian 3 for a crime or physical violence can be easily found by the pedestrian 3 by being lighted from the street side, a high crime preventive effect can be obtained.
