PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drop optical cable which has a small minimum bending diameter and superior shrinkage resistance. SOLUTION: The cable 1 includes a coated optical fiber 2, a tension member 3, and a wire 4. The tension member 3 is formed in a flat rectangular section where an FRP part 5 made of fiber-reinforced thermosetting resin is coated with an inner coating part 6 made of thermoplastic resin. The tension member 3 is manufactured as FRP with a thermoplastic resin coating by dipping thermosetting resin in reinforcing fiber, obtaining a specified resin content rate by a drawing nozzle, forming a two layers of an internal layer part 6 and an external layer part of thermoplastic resin around the thermosetting resin in an unset state, heating and setting the thermosetting resin of the FRP part 5, and peeling and removing only the external layer part of the two layers.
