PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the energy needed to reheat a heating material fed out during stopping period of a press for forging for a while and also, to reduce scale developed during cooling the heating material and to prevent the unevenness of rising temperature at the reheating time. SOLUTION: A heat holding furnace 8 is arranged at the outlet side of a heating coil block 1 in an induction heating apparatus and in the position apart from a line extending from the induction heating apparatus to the press, and during stopping period of the press 9 for forging for a while, the heating material 2' fed out from the heating coil block 1, is stored into this heat holding furnace 8, and when the operation of the press 9 is restarted, the heating material 2' in the heat holding furnace 8 is firstly supplied to the press.
