METHOD FOR FORMING FLUORESCENT SURFACE OF PLASMA DISPLAY PANEL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for forming fluorescent surface of plasma display panel which solves the problem that in a method of polishing a top portion of a rib to remove phosphor on the top portion of the rib when forming a fluorescent surface of a back plate of a plasma display panel, the rib is sometimes broken off and polishing scratches are produced thereby making a substrate on which phosphor is applied faulty, and which enables to prevent color mixture of phosphor, emit light in high brightness and display an image of high quality. SOLUTION: In this method of forming a fluorescent surface of a plasma display panel including a step of applying phosphor paste on cells zoned by a rib on the substrate, the top portion of the rib is polished with an abrasive having a particle size corresponding to 50 to 200% of the average phosphor particle size after applying phosphor paste to remove the phosphor adhered to the top portion of the rib.
