PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a branch joint having satisfactory operation property in a narrow place and having excellent airtightness. SOLUTION: The branch joint 3 is provided with an upper side main body 5 and a lower side main body 6 tightened on an outer peripheral face of an original pipe 1. The lower side main body 6 has a branched part 64 which is communicated with the original pipe 1 and whose end part is sealed by a detachable cap 8 and a branch pipe receiving part 65 extending from the branched part 64 in the direction in which it crosses the original pipe 1. A hole saw 7 driven upward is mounted inside the branched part 64. A fire-resistant packing 93 adhering closely to the original pipe 1 is fitted in the lower side main body 6. The branched part 64 and the hole saw 7 and the branched part 64 and the cap 8 are sealed by an O-ring 91 and a metal seal 92. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
