PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oscillation circuit with low power consumption and for starting the oscillation faster. SOLUTION: An amplitude suppression circuit 51 (52) is connected between a source terminal of a PMOS transistor 1 (an NMOS transistor 2) and a power supply (ground) to suppress an oscillation amplitude, the PMOS, NMOS transistors 1, 2 configuring an oscillation gate 20. An amplitude amplifier circuit 9 amplifies the suppressed amplitude up to a power supply voltage and the resulting level is outputted from an oscillation circuit output CKOUT. Since the amplitude of the oscillation gate 20 is suppressed, a charge / discharge current flowing through an input capacitor C1 and an output capacitor C2 of the oscillation gate 20 is decreased and the low power consumption of the oscillation circuit can be realized.
