PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform display of a map, etc. which should be originally performed even when a display part is rotated. SOLUTION: In a rotating portable terminal 100 having a main body 102 and the display part 101 rotatable to the main body 102, a rotation angle of the display part 101 to the main body 102 is detected and an upper direction of the main body 102 is detected based on earth magnetism. The rotating portable terminal 100 controls picture display of the display part 101 based on the rotation angle of the display part 101 and the upper direction of the main body 102. Thus, a GPS picture is displayed on the display part 101 so that a direction on the GPS picture (map) coincides with an actual direction.
