PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method by which a good-quality blast material for metals can be industrially mass-produced by utilizing waste insulators. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing a blast material for metals is provided with a crushing process 10 for crushing the waste insulators into fine granular pieces to obtain insulator crushed objects, a sorting process 20 for removing mortar pieces included in the insulator crushed objects to obtain insulator scraps, a drying process 30 for hot-drying the obtained insulator scraps, and a grain size selecting process 40 for extracting objects with a specific grain size, for example, a grain size of 0.8-2.0 mm by passing the insulator scraps through a sieve.
