FIELD: the invention refers to automatic processing of postal parcels in the process of their automatic sorting. ^ SUBSTANCE: video encoding station of an installation for sorting postal objects particularly parcels executes direction of each parcel to the exit of the sorting on the basis of automatic reading of the postal address out of a digital image of the parcel. The station has a block of a central processor, a display and a keyboard and is programmed for displaying of the image so that the operator via video encoding may execute semi-automatic processing of reading the address. The station has also a positioning arrangement for locating a grid in the center of the field of displayed image and a push button for recording the current location of the grid so that the operator can quickly identify the site of the postal address. ^ EFFECT: such video encoding station allows the operator quickly identify the field which is of interest and includes the postal address so that the postal address corresponding to the parcel may be identified by way of applying an algorithm of an automatic identification of symbols that are of interest to the field. ^ 2 cl, 4 dwg |
