PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stabilizer composition for halogen containing vinyl polymers, particularly effective for protection from deterioration and discoloration of the halogen containing vinyl polymers during processing or long-term use. SOLUTION: The stabilized polymer composition contains a halogen containing vinyl polymer, a filler, a mercaptan-containing organic compound and an effective amount of zinc salt to provide 0.075-1.5 pts.wt. of metallic zinc to 100 pts.wt. of the halogen containing vinyl polymer.
