摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing solution which combines prevention of contamination with printing durability during printing without degrading image forming property, and in particular, is suitable for environment-friendly ink, and to provide a method for processing a photosensitive planographic printing plate material. SOLUTION: The method for processing a photosensitive planographic printing plate material includes a step of developing the following photosensitive planographic printing plate material with an alkali aqueous solution containing a compound expressed by general formula (1): R<SB>1</SB>-O-(R<SB>2</SB>-O)<SB>n</SB>-SO<SB>3</SB><SP>-</SP>X<SP>+</SP>. The plate material has a photosensitive layer of a photopolymerizable photosensitive resin composition comprising a compound containing an ethylenically unsaturated bond, a photopolymerization initiator, a trihalomethyl group-containing compound and a polymer binder material, formed on an aluminum support. After the photosensitive planographic printing plate material is imagewise exposed to laser light and an overcoat layer is removed to obtain an intermediate material of the photosensitive planographic printing plate material, the contact angle of an image part in the intermediate material with the above alkali aqueous solution is in the range of 25 to 50°.
