PATH CONTROLLER, COMMUNICATION CONTROLLER, AND COMMUNICATION SYSTEM EMPLOYING THEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize flow control at a network core part with a minimum processing load while making the best use of the advantages of the class control at the network core part and the control in flow units at edge parts.

SOLUTION: A communication network includes: a communication controller (10) for managing communication on the network; ingress routers (20) through which packets transmitted to the network pass; and control routers (30) for carrying out flow control of the packets inside the network. The communication controller particularizes the ingress router and the control router for each packet flow, and transmits a marking request for designating a concerned control router and the flow control carried out by the concerned control router to the particularized ingress router. The ingress router attaches the marking information including the control router and the flow control to the packets included in the packet flow according to the marking request. The control router controls the packet flow on the basis of the marking information of the packets.
