<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lighting fixture with an air cleaning function not needing energy for its operation, equipped with a high-performance air cleaning function. <P>SOLUTION: The lighting fixture with the air cleaning function comprises an illumination lamp and a honeycomb-shape photocatalyst structure arranged at a lamp shade so that part of light from the lamp can go into vent holes of the structure. Room air is sent into the honeycomb-shape structure by utilizing convective flow of air generated by the heat of the lamp, or, adsorbent fine particles capable of adsorbing and condensing the substance to be cleaned like zeolite are made to be carried on the surface of vent holes of the honeycomb-shaped photocatalyst structure together with photocatalyst fine particles. By the above, the substance to be cleaned contained in the room air is absorbed by an absorbent and condensed on the photocatalyst surface when the room air passes through the surface of the vent holes of the honeycomb-shape structure, therefore, the speed of oxidation decomposition reaction is accelerated to heighten air cleaning capacity. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
