A seat pad for a vehicle, having excellent seating and riding comfort and capable of being reduced in weight, and a method of producing the seat pad. A seat pad (1) for a vehicle has a hole (5) communicated with the outside and extended to the inside. A method of producing a seat pad for a vehicle has a step of placing a core in a metal mold, a step of foam forming the seat pad (1) in the metal mold, a step of removing the seat pad having the core, and a step of removing the core from the seat pad. The seat pad for a vehicle, inside which pad the hole (5) communicating with the outside is extended, is produced through the steps above. Since the seat pad has the hole, the weight is correspondingly reduced, and since the hole is provided inside the seat pad, a person sitting on the seat pad does not experience foreign-object sensation. Further, bottoming sensation is prevented or suppressed because rigidity near the bottom of the seat pad is prevented from lowering.
