The hydraulic cylinder has a piston rod (3) longitudinally movable in a cylinder tube (2), with an eye (7) fitted on the free end (6) of the piston rod. A support disc is fitted in the end of the piston rod and the piston rod eye has a baseplate (8), whereby the piston rod eye is fixed on the support disc via fastening screws which pass through the baseplate. A threaded section with a female thread is provided in the end of the piston rod, and the support disc is fitted in the threaded section via a male thread provided on its outer circumference.
