PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording device in which trouble is not caused even if such operation is performed that a power source is disconnected in a mounted state. SOLUTION: A plurality of video recorders 10a and 10b are connected to a LAN in a home. The recorder 10b is started in a started state of the recorder 10a [4], the recorder 10b seeks a recorder which can be mounted [5]. The recorder 10a responds to this seek [6], the recorder 10b mounts HD of the recorder 10a [7]. The recorder 10b transmits mount request to the recorder 10a [8]. The recorder 10a mounts HD of the recorder 10b [9]. When disconnecting operation of the power source of the recorder 10b is performed [10], the recorder 10b unmounts HD of the recorder 10a [11]. The recorder 10b transmits unmount request to the recorder 10a [12]. The recorder 10a unmounts HD of the recorder 10b [13]. And the power source of the recorder 10b is disconnected [14].
