PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and arrangement for ensuring the accuracy of the alignment of X-axis and Y-axis of a jet nozzle in a print process. SOLUTION: The first image pattern is made printed at least partially in the image area (step 202) by the first set constituted of one or more nozzles each of which is operable so that a single pixel may be printed at a time. A suitable control signal is transmitted, then the second image pattern is made printed at least partially in the image area (step 204) by the second set constituted of one or more nozzles each of which is operable so that a single pixel may be printed at a time. The first and second image patterns form a composite image in the image area. Optical characteristics is measured with an optical detector (step 206).
