PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To sufficiently supply a developer to a developer carrier and to make the cost of a developing device low. SOLUTION: A developer supply roller is arranged abutting against the developer carrier and supplies the developer. Then the developer supply roller has a plurality of opening parts on its surface and the respective opening parts are in a nearly long-circle shape. In this case, a sufficient amount of a developer can be secured in the opening parts, so the amount of a developer which can be supplied from the developer supply roller to the developer carrier becomes large to cause no blurring of an image and then improve image quality. Further, the number of cell walls which are present in a circumferential direction can be made large without increasing the number of opening parts, so a developer scooping force can be made large.
