PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data processor and a history verifying method for detecting the alteration of a processing history. SOLUTION: When the capacity of a history list Li in a tamper-proof device is short, history information is saved to an external list Lo in an external storage device, and saving records S for guaranteeing the contents and order of the history information to be saved are generated and stored by using uni-directional functions in the tamper-proof device. At the time of verifying the external list Lo, the history information in the external list Lo is read in the order of saving, and a check value C is generated by using the uni-directional functions identical to those at the time of generating the saving records, and collated with the saving records S.
