PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve efficiency of the entire cogeneration system, and properly control a fuel supply volume at the follow-burning operation time according to an operating condition of a generator and a load required for an exhaust gas boiler by obtaining a predetermined evaporation volume from the exhaust gas boiler regardless of an operating condition of the generator. SOLUTION: In this operation method for a cogeneration system, the system comprises a generator 1, a follow-burning burning fuel using exhaust gas from the generator 1, and an exhaust gas boiler 2 with an air supply means 8 supplying the air to the follow-burner 7. A fuel supply volume and an air supply volume to the follow-burner 7 are adjusted based on the operating condition of the generator 1 and the load required for the exhaust gas boiler 2.
