PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric reel for fishing, improved in a series of motor driven automatic winding-up operabilities, while enabling the reel to perform delicate line-winding operations corresponding to fishing spot situations and fish kinds. SOLUTION: The electric reel is equipped with a spool rotatably set between side plates of a main body 3, a spool motor 17 attached to the reel main body and driving the spool, a motor output setter of a lever-type and rotation-operationally attached to the reel main body, and a motor output selecting means for increasing/decreasing, from off-state, the motor output of the spool motor according to rotating operations of the motor output setter. Wherein, an idling switch is mounted on the reel body or the motor output selector so that, even when the motor output selector is operated any position of the output selecting range, the output of the spool motor can be raised up to the maximum level by the pressing operation of the idling switch.
