PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a cushioning material for packing and a deaeration type packing method which has no possibility of breaking a thin film member for packing by the thin film member for packing being caught by an article to be packed, and which facilitates placing of the article to be packed. SOLUTION: A foamed polystyrene material 2 is placed in a corrugated board box 1, and then, a vinyl bag 3 is mounted in the corrugated board box 1. In this case, a duct 5 for deaeration is inserted into an inserting opening 2g for the duct for deaeration, and by sucking air, the air among the corrugated board box 1, the foamed polystyrene material 2 and the vinyl bag 3 is deaerated through a through hole 2b, between the bottom face 1a of the corrugated board box 1, and the back face 2c of the foamed polystyrene material 2, to bringing the vinyl bag 3 into tight contact with a recessed part 2a for placing a product of the foamed polystyrene material 2 and the inside of the corrugated board box 1.
