PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber arraying unit which enables optical fibers to be accurately introduced into fiber arraying grooves and which, therefore, facilitates arraying of the optical fibers with an accurate arraying pitch, and also to provide an optical switch. SOLUTION: In the optical fiber arraying unit 10 in which a plurality of optical fibers 9 are fixedly introduced in the fiber arraying grooves 15 arranged side by side on the surface of a fiber array 11, the unit is characterized by having a guide plate 12 that is fixed on the fiber array 11, that is extended in the side-by-sidearrangement direction of the fiber arraying grooves 15 on the introducing side of the optical fibers 9, and that forms a fiber introducing space 16 with the rear face 12a and the wall face 15c of the fiber arraying grooves 15, and by having a fixing plate 14 that is fixed on the fiber array 11, that is extended in the side-by-side-arrangement direction of the fiber arraying grooves 15 on the end face side of the optical fibers 9, and that is in contact with the circumferential face of the optical fibers 9 introduced into the fiber arraying grooves 15 through the fiber introducing space 16. |
