Countershafts (6,7,8,9), with idler wheels, fixed wheels and gear clutches distributed thereon, form countershaft units (KR,K1,K2,K3,K4) for gear and direction shifting. One countershaft unit (K4) is disposed axially upon the input shafts (2,4) and is designed as gear splitter which divides the gear ratios of the other countershaft units. One of the input shafts is connected with a turbine section of a torque converter and the other input shaft is connected with the rotational speed of an engine via a direct through drive. |
