PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an optimum mixing state of fly ash and to improve a fly ash processing capacity by a method in which when fly ash is heated in a reactor while being agitated by a paddle agitator to decompose dioxin in the fly ash, the width of paddles is specified with regard to the inside radius of the reactor. SOLUTION: This fly ash dioxin pyrolyzing apparatus 1 is provided with a reactor with a cooling water jacket 3 and a paddle agitator 4 for agitating fly ash in the reactor 2. Fly ash introduced into the reactor 2 from one end side of the reactor 2 is heated in the reactor 2 while being agitated by the agitator 4, dioxin is decomposed, and decomposition gas is discharged from the other end side. On this occasion, the width of paddles 4a is set up to be 0.25-0.4 time the inside radius of the reactor 2. The relationship among the radius R (m) of the reactor 2, the number of rotations N (rpm) of the paddles, and the acceleration of gravity G (m/s<2> ) meet the relationship 220<=RN<2> /G<=250. |
