The board is made from two thin layers (3, 5) of wood (3 - 10 mm thick) with their grains running in different directions to one another, one in line with the axis of the board and the other at an angle of 10 - 90 degrees to it. The layers of wood are combined with layers (1, 2, 5, 6) of other materials, all glued together under pressure.
