The installation has a fuel reformer (2) to transform a liquid fuel into hydrogen rich reformate for supply to a fuel cell stack (3). The stack transforms the hydrogen with air using electric power. A compression system (5) has autonomous turbo compressors (9, 10) with respective compressors (9A, 10A) supplied by air compressed by a separate compressor (12). The two turbo-compressors supply compressed air to the reformer and the stack. Independent claims are also included for the following: (a) a method for production of electricity to a motor vehicle (b) a vehicle comprising an electricity production installation.
