A catalyzer is fixed to a rigid part using a fixing device (6) made of an anchor plate (12) fixed to the rigid part; at least one catalyzer support (13) and one or more gripping straps (14). The anchor plate has means (15) of retaining the straps, which go round the catalyzer and hold it rigid against the catalyzer support which is in contact with the anchor plate. The means of retaining the straps are fixed to the anchor plate or supported by it. They are seating axes or skates extending in the same direction. The free ends of the means of retaining the straps are in the same direction. The straps are made of at least two half-collars with one end seated on a means of retaining and the other end has means of gripping. The catalyzer support element is fixed to the anchor plate and supports one or more retaining elements. Alternatively, the catalyzer support element is fixed to the catalyzer and designed to press against the anchor plate when the catalyzer is gripped by the straps. The catalyzer support is Omega shaped with the summit supporting the catalyzer and the feet pressing against the anchor plate and/or the support is fixed to the catalyzer using one or more gripping straps. The catalyzer has an exhaust flange and the fixing device also includes a support for the exhaust flange fixed on the rigid part.
