PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of adjusting an optical axis of a vehicle-mounted camera capable of responding not only to a single target but also to a plurality of targets. SOLUTION: The method of adjusting the optical axis of the vehicle mounted camera includes the step of receiving an optical axis adjustment indicating command, and an all targets indicating command and/or an individual target indicating command in every target from a detecting device 3; the step of determining whether optical axis adjustment is to be performed or not based on the optical axis adjustment indicating command; the step of determining which target is to be utilized based on the all targets indicating command, and/or the individual target indicating command in every target; the step of performing a process to acquire correction amount for optical axis adjustment by using the determined target; the step of determining whether the process of acquiring the correction amount for the optical axis adjustment is completed or not; and the step of transmitting an all target completed command, and/or an individual target completed command in every target to the detecting device 3.
