PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thin clasp and wristwatch applicable to a thin wristwatch. SOLUTION: A clasp 7 has a front cover 10, a medium plate 11 and a bottom plate 13, and in the clasp, the front cover 10 includes a sliding member 21 held inside the front cover 10 through a spring bar 15 and energized in the direction engaging with a hook 11A formed in the medium plate or the bottom plate, and the sliding member 21 is slid by operating an operation part projecting out of the front cover 10 and the engagement between the sliding member and the hook 11A formed in the medium plate or the bottom plate is released. The sliding member 21 is formed in a flat plate shape, and an engagement portion 21B engaging with the hook and a supporting member 22 having a long hole 23 where the spring bar 15 penetrates are formed in the flat plate section.
