PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical device capable of demultiplexing and multiplexing light, or either demultiplexing or multiplexing light, without deteriorating the characteristics of light. SOLUTION: In an optical demultiplexer equipped with a cylindrical casing 10, a collimating lens 20, five wavelength-selecting means 31, 32, 33, 34, 35, five condenser lenses 41, 42, 43, 44, 45 and five light-receiving parts 51, 52, 53, 54, 55, the wavelength-selecting means 31, 32, 33, 34, 35 are disposed at an almost equal spacings along the propagation path of light exiting from an optical fiber inserted into an insertion hole 10b, with one face among 31a, 32a, 33a, 34a, 35a inclined with respect to the collimating lenses 20 and making 45°angle between the faces 31a, 32a, 33a, 34a, 35a and the propagation path of light.
