<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processor capable of correctly and rapidly extracting the position of a face from a taken image, and having high versatility. <P>SOLUTION: This image processor is equipped with: a second extraction means 6 for extracting a distance between a reference point on an image in a concentration gradient direction of a face-detecting template image and each coordinate point, and information of an angle formed by intersecting a line connecting the reference point to the coordinate point with a horizontal axis passing the coordinate point; a third storage means 7 for storing the distance extracted by the extraction means 6 and the information of the angle by sorting them on the basis of a value in the concentration gradient direction of the face-detecting template image; a voting means 8 for executing a voting process to reference point candidate points in the image in the concentration gradient direction of the taken image based on the value in the concentration gradient direction in each coordinate point used as a reference of the image in the concentration gradient direction of the taken image and a shape feature stored in the third storage means 7; and a first detection means 9 for detecting the position of the face based on the voting result obtained by the voting means 8. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
