<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plasma generator of a new constitution which ensures a decomposing effect or a removing effect on a toxic substance included in the atmosphere, while generation of ozone accompanied with electric discharge can be surely prevented or controlled. <P>SOLUTION: The plasma generator is equipped with a plasma forming space into which the atmosphere is introduced. In this plasma forming space, a belt-shaped first electrode and a belt-shaped second electrode are disposed oppositely through a dielectric material, and the plasma is generated by the electric discharge caused by applying a voltage between the first electrode and the second electrodes. The first electrode and the second electrode are in a position relatively biased to the surface direction of the dielectric material in such a manner that they satisfy a specified relational equation. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
